When I met you at the airport the weekend of my birthday on the way to Sudbury, I almost had a heart attack (which you know LOL). Andrew told you it was my birthday the next day and that I was going to the concert, and you were more than ready to sign my shirt for me, just like that. "A heart for [my] heart attack", it's silly but those are words I will never forget. After boarding the plane and finding out that I was sitting across from you (and Andrew) I almost couldn't believe it. I mean, what are the odds (on a teeny tiny plane like that - where you and your crew took up every 2nd seat LOL) that I would be sitting across the aisle from you?! As you playfully introduced everyone coming onto the plane, I laughed. As I tried my hardest to keep the conversation going, my mind was completely blank as I sat there in awe and disbelief that I was on the same plane with INXS who I had listened to every day for the past 6 months, who I had traveled so far to see. I will never forget the kind smile you had on your face when you came over to me after we got off the plane. You had been bombarded with pictures from people waiting for you at the airport and you still came up to me, playfully elbowed me and asked how I was doing. That meant a lot. At the concert, when you came and sat on the speaker an arms distance away, the smile on your face when you saw it was me, I knew you had remembered who I was. That meant something to me. After the concert, at the hotel, when you came into the lobby, saw me and came over instantly with open arms wishing your "plane buddy" a happy birthday with a hugg and a kiss on the cheek. I will never forget. Asking us to join you in the bar for a drink.... though we waited and sadly, you didn't come. I don't believe for a second that it had anything to do with us. So many long days, I would have been asleep in a second. Kirk, I truly believe that if I was to ever have the pleasure of seeing you again, that you would remember me. That is a nice feeling. I thank you for making my birthday that much more wonderful!
