It's hard to put into words how fun this concert was. First of all it was the only one I went to for this trip of their's to Canada so I knew I wanted to soak everything in and enjoy the whole experience. I couldn't have had a nicer bunch to sit and dance, and squee with in DCG, Eejay, and Phantim (and the other familiar faces in the crowd too.. Ember, Nif and all the rest).

We arrived in Barrie early afternoon and decided to just swing by the Molson centre pre-show, we saw some buses outside.. which meant that yes, .. they really were there.

We headed off to the hotel to check in and mentioned to the front desk that we were going to the concert, when she said oh, yeah wasn't that yesterday? We all looked at each other in mild panic that we'd all remembered the date wrong, but then had to laugh at ourselves. Of course, we didn't get the date wrong. *huge sigh of relief from everyone there* The girls on the desk laughed, we laughed... everything's okay.. whew.

After getting settled in the hotel we decided to go have a bite to eat at 'Casey's' the restaurant at the Molson centre. We were sitting waiting for the order to arrive when all we heard was "Check, check, check" Um..... okay what was that? After asking the girl we found out that the soundcheck was taking place with the crew. The Molson centre is hockey rink so there's a window at the back of the restaurant overlooking the concert floor. They draw the blinds for concerts... needless to say we had to peek through the blinds. Where we saw them setting up the chairs, the equipment, and parts of the lighting and sound crew getting things prepared. We didn't expect to see that so it was kind of cool even though there wasn't a member of INXS to be found. (we met some other nice INXS fans there too so *wave* to them) We had fun peeking through the blinds at an empty arena envisioning the concert to come.

When we arrived back at the arena at concert time we were envisioning a hard time sneaking cameras in... we went all agent 99.. but no on arrival it was "Welcome.. the beer's that way" LOL They didn't ask, didn't look.. so we have pictures

The opening Singer and her band was good. I remember hearing a bit about Hayley Sales pre-concert so I was happy to see her and her band in person. She's only 20 and is a real hippy chick, and she's got a fan in Kris Novaselic. Not bad for 20..

Now the main act..

As soon as AC/DC started playing the crowd around me got to their feet. They all knew and couldn't wait.

There was no curtain, or countdown, so in the dark we saw the shadowy shapes of the band move onstage and we went crazy.

I don't even know how to describe it for you, but the music was there and so were we. We danced, we pogoed, we yelled, we swayed.

Everything sounded right, and it makes me feel joyful and sniffly just thinking about it. I think it was Original Sin, it was raccous, we were into it, the band was playing as hard as they could and at the normal wrapping up point of the song Garry moved to the front of the stage and made motions for us to clap.. he seemed to be saying oh, no not yet.. you think we're going to let up now??? And drove the music on.

It was a joyful celebration with us, and it's going to stay with me for a long time to come.

JD swaying and bopping and crazy handing all over the stage, Garry's head back, Andrew strumming away, Kirk and the Sax behind the drum kit, Jon hand over heart for a fan, Tim all over the stage.

Memorable snipits...

The radio station who seemed to be sponsering the concert had had giant beach balls floating all over the concert, one ended up on stage giving JD the chance to talk about a big red ball.

Giant 6 foot blow up penis...???? WTF? When it ended up on stage JD cracked Garry up with it. But then quickly sent it backstage.

The guy at the front whipping the shirt off his back over his head.. over, and over again. loved that..

All the songs sounded so great, it just seemed like it was another level. There was a great energy around me it felt so special to me.

They've started to mix Taste It and Elegantly Wasted and it sounds so great. I love JD's voice on it. So good...

Here's a tiny bit of Pretty Vegas.. yeah, I stopped taping too soon.. silly SleepinIn. Had to dance though.. and the guy in front of me (really tall) was pogoing, he kept bouncing into frame. I blame him.. LOL I'm glad he was having fun though.
