I found this recipe by Kirk on one of the fan websites. I wrote it on a scrap piece of paper and have just found it out, I think www.rockbandlounge.com and at the top of the scrap of paper I've written page 4 topless Jon.
Anyway,
I think a fan had got hold of an interview and Kirk had given this as one example of his recipe.
Recipe
2 large bunches of basil
8 clove garlic
2 packs of pine nuts
1 pack of pistachio nuts (shelled)
100-200g Italian parmesan cheese to taste
300-500ml good quality extra virgin olive oil to taste and consistancy - needs to be fairly moist
Method
Brown garlic, pistachios and pine nuts until pine nuts are browned. Doesn't take long and apparently you don't need any oil in the pan?
Combine all ingredients in a food processor (with lesser amounts of oil and parmesan) and mix till all blended.
Taste and add more parmesan cheese and oil to taste and to reach slightly creamy looking consistancy.
